State of Things · Last updated: 8 June 2026
In short. State of Things is a private, self-hosted tool used by an individual to track their own net worth. It is not a public or commercial service, it is provided “as is” with no warranty, and it does not give financial advice.
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of State of Things (the “Application”), operated by a private individual (the “Operator”). By signing in to or using the Application, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.
The Application is a personal, non-commercial, self-hosted project. It is operated by an individual for their own personal and household financial management. It is not offered to the public, is not sold, and there is no current plan to deploy it publicly. Access is limited to the Operator and to people the Operator explicitly invites.
The Application displays and organises financial information for convenience only. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and nothing in it should be relied upon as such. You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on the information shown.
Where you choose to connect a bank account, this is done through Enable Banking Oy, a licensed Account Information Service Provider regulated by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA), under the EU PSD2 framework. You authenticate directly with your own bank and consent there. The Application receives read-only access to account information (such as balances) and cannot initiate payments. You can withdraw your consent at any time by disconnecting the account in the Application or through your bank. You are responsible for keeping your own banking and Google credentials secure; you never enter your banking credentials into this Application.
Sign-in is handled through Google. The Operator controls who may access the Application and may grant, change, or revoke access (owner, editor, or viewer roles) at any time. Invited users may request removal of their access at any time.
The Application is a personal project and may be unavailable, changed, or discontinued at any time without notice. No particular level of availability, performance, or data retention is guaranteed.
The Application is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or financial loss, arising from the use of or inability to use the Application. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Your use of the Application is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains what data is processed and your rights under the GDPR.
These terms may be updated as the Application evolves. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic and applicable European Union law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
